The best books to help inspire your next interior project.
I love books! So it’s no surprise that as an Interior Designer my bookcase is full of books based on decorating the home. One of my favourite things is delving into a great book to help inspire some exciting ideas or to learn something new. These books are some of my favourites and they are jam-packed with smart ideas and beautiful imagery that will help you on your next interior design adventure.
1. The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking
This probably isn’t the first time you have heard of this book and I’m sure it won’t be the last. The Little Book of Hygge explores what it means to live like the Danish and how to bring more hygge into your home and life. This is a great read to help redefine what home means to you.
Hygge is about an atmosphere and an experience, rather than about things. It is about being with the people we love. A feeling of home.

2. Farrow & Ball. How to Decorate by Joa Studholme & Charlotte Cosby
I love Farrow & Ball paints. The colour schemes that they combine with their wallpapers are just beautiful. This is a great book to give you some insight into the company and teach you how to work with colour in your own home.
3. Resourceful Living by Lisa Dawson
Resourceful Living is full of tips & tricks on revamping your home with cleverly sourced vintage finds or existing pieces from your home. This is a great book to read before starting a new interior project as it encourages conscious buying, which will help save you time and money. It is also packed with beautiful images that I could spend hours looking at.
4. Home. The Elements of Decorating by Emma Blomfield
This is a great book if you are new to decorating and don’t know where to start. It is broken up into easy to follow chapters based on key rooms of the home and covers lots of essential points you’d want to consider when starting a project such as your needs and wants.
